School Meals Programme

31st March 2020
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you safe and well. We want to let you know what Tynock N.S and Glanmore Foods are doing in response to the directive from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection in relation to providing food packages to schools who currently avail of the School Meals Scheme. Every child in our school can avail of a food package weekly and I will commence distribution of these packs tomorrow Wednesday 1st April.

These care packs will consist of the following:
Sliced Pan (Goodness of Both), 2 Ltr Milk, Butter, Cheddar Cheese, Bananas, Yoghurts Oatie Crunch Bars.
I am asking parents to collect these packs at the school tomorrow Wednesday 1st April between the hours of 11am and 1pm. I will have the bags ready to be collected. Permission has been sought from the Department of Health to allow myself to distribute these bags but also to allow parents to collect this food. Collection must be strictly in line with the HSE Covid-19 physical distancing guidelines. I am asking that parents park at the school gates and one person from each family come to the school porch one at a time.

Going forward, An Post have kindly offered to deliver these packs to families free of charge. When this commences all items will be non-perishable. This is a fantastic scheme available to families. To avail of this, I am asking all families to message me privately on class dojo with your email address, postal address and Eircode. This message will also be a message of consent allowing me to pass on your details to Glanmore Foods.

If I do not hear from you by 6pm on Wednesday 1st April, I will assume you do not want to be involved in the scheme and I will not pass on your details to Glanmore Foods.

If you would like to avail of the food package but cannot attend the school tomorrow please message me privately on Class Dojo.

Yours Sincerely,
Deirdre Walsh
