Virtual School Tour 2020

Good morning parents, boys and girls.
This is a post that I didn’t think I would ever be writing. Today Friday 19th June we should be heading off on our school tour for a fun filled day. 2nd to 6th Class should be on their way to Dublin -to check out everything Explorium has got to offer. Junior Infants – 1st Class should be on a bus to Kia Ora Mini Farm in Gorey.
But instead I have put together some virtual tours for us to go on together. Get ready everyone – don’t forget your packed lunch. I hope you enjoy them.

Boys and Girls I hope you have your packed lunch ready because we off on a very special tour. We are off to San Diago Zoo. Click on the pictures to look at the different animals in the zoo. I hope you enjoy it.

If you don’t like flying boys and girls, we could always stay here in Ireland and visit our very own Zoo – Dublin Zoo.

Check out the animals in Dublin zoo by clicking here.

Middle Room/Senior Room

Boys and Girls we are staying in Ireland for our tour. We are going to learn some new things about this wonderful country we live in. Let’s stop off in Belfast first:

This is an excellent tour with audio. You can pick and choose which sections you would like to focus on .  Click here to check it out yourself.

There are even some fun recipes to try out. Click on the picture for resources.

Now back to  Dublin:

This website has some great videos that you can watch to get a sense of what life was like long ago.  It has a cool feature to see how Dublin changed over the years, by scrolling along the time line.
You can also compare it to present day.
There are quizzes included to keep the children engaged in the various topics.

There is a lovely ‘Children’s Section’ on the official Áras an Uachtaráin website.

Here you can take a virtual tour of some rooms in the Áras.  You can also click on each of the guides shown below to learn more about the President, where he lives and the Phoenix Park.

There is a quiz for you to take to to see what you can remember from the virtual tour.

Now let’s go step by step through the floors of the museum to explore a huge variety of animals. Our present 6th Class visited the National History Museum as part of one of our educational tours. Can you remember?

Click here to download the virtual tour worksheet.

A virtual tour of the locations around Dublin city that were the focus of action during the Easter Rising.

I hope you all enjoyed the tours. Have a lovely weekend and we will be back here on Monday. Ms Rogers has put together lots of fun activities for our last week of school.
